From traditional to fusion-style, California's sushi restaurants offer a wide variety of flavors and textures to satisfy any palate. We left it to the experts to choose the best.

The top sushi restaurants in Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego and San Francisco were selected based on rankings provided by newspaper reviews and dining guides in each region. Two nominees from each region have been selected to compete in the 2005 SushiMasters Competition. Each restaurant has chosen one chef to compete in Sacramento.
