How To Enter
Enter the 2007-08 SushiMasters – Regional Competitions!
The California Rice Commission would like to invite qualified professional chefs to enter the 2007-08 SushiMasters Regional Events. Events are being planned for Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento, and all chefs wishing to compete in the 2008 SushiMasters Finals must qualify through a regional event.
If selected, qualified chefs will first compete locally. Overall winners in each region will continue on to the 2008 SushiMasters Finals in Sacramento on June 10. Winners of the 2008 SushiMasters Finals are eligible for cash prizes and recognition for their excellence and mastery of their trade.

Interested chefs must meet the following criteria to qualify for entry:
1. Must be a professional chef with a minimum of three years of experience in sushi preparation at an established restaurant; experienced head or assistant head chef preferred but not required.
2. Chef must currently own or work in a restaurant located in California, and must enter for the contest in that restaurant's region.
3. Obtain a letter of support from a professional sushi chef, such as an employer, mentor or colleague.
4. Chef-owners of restaurants in business over five years are exempt from having to provide letters, but should provide at least one reference.
5. Properly complete all entry forms, ingredient lists/recipes and photo of recipe entries by due dates indicated.
